Trying our Homemade version of Mang Inasal Chicken



Mang Inasal is one of the most famous fast food chains in the Philippines due to the traditional way of grilling chicken parts using Filipino style. Grilled chicken is a famous tradition of grilling the chicken using either charcoal or wooden flame sources to make the meat tender and juicy. Many foreigners became interested in trying Mang Inasal's grilled chicken due to the recommendation of their Filipino friends. You will notice in online streaming websites, showing foreigners who attempt to fulfill their satiety while consuming the Filipino style grilled chicken.

Many are now attempting to recreate Mang Inasal's homemade style. As a curious individual, I attempted to make a homemade Mang Inasal's grilled chicken and will try to make it as our own dish at home. After recreating it, the outcome did not fail our expectations. So I will be sharing you guys how I recreated Mang Inasal's grilled chicken as our own version. This is one of the best things that you can apply for special occasions with your relatives at home.



Ingredients:
  • I whole chicken, chopped into pieces.
  • 2 cups of drinking water
  • 5 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 bundle of Grated atchara 
  • 10 pieces of calamansi or small lime
  • Grilling equipment (grill, forceps or tong, sauce applicator, charcoal, basin)
Procedure:
  • Prepare necessary grilling equipment (grill, charcoal, basin, forceps, lighter and lighter fluid, fan).
  • Chop the whole chicken into several pieces. 
  • Wash the chopped chicken using running water. 
  • Use another basin where you will start mixing all other ingredients in one place. 
  • Pour the water and mix it with the sugar, atchara, oyster sauce, the chicken pieces, calamansi, and salt. 
  • After mixing all the ingredients, it is time to marinade the chicken for at least one hour. 
  • While waiting for the marinated chicken to take place, prepare the grilling equipment. 
  • When the grill is ready with the fire on, it is now time to place the chicken at the grill. 
  • Make sure that you will grill the chicken in a slow fire, allowing the heat to penetrate deep beneath the outer parts of the chicken under the flames. 
  • Using the marinated sauce, you can use a brush to coat the chicken while the grilling takes place for added flavor.
  • Check all parts of each chicken to make sure that the grilling is properly done. 
  • After the grilling process is done to all the chicken parts, it is now time to place it in a plate and ready to serve. 
Serving:
  • Place all grilled chicken to a large plate or any container. 
  • It is optional for you to do garnishing after the grilling process for a better presentation.
  • You may now serve the chicken inasal to your relatives or family.
